Excerpt:

Cannibal Woman was sneaking through the woods again. Her crooked parts and hair of snakes glided through shrouds of gusting snow.

Jodadoh’gowah sensed her presence and he could only grit his teeth.

She smiled at his distress, flicking tentacles of frigid air at his deerskin capote, nipping at tiny passages along sinew threads to squirm around hollow hairs and chill the young man’s soul.

His uncles had warned Jodadoh’gowah of Cannibal Woman and the agony of a stomach feeding on itself.

He tucked his fists under his armpits to tap reservoirs of warmth and screamed through the icy gusts of air cutting at his face, “Cannibal Woman, forget the young and old! Attack me, a Cayuga warrior! Show me your skill!”
